ALL ABOUT RUGMARK MEMBERSHIP

An Exporter who is motivated by Social Awareness and Business Interests can apply to become a Rugmark License.

Exporter applies to conform to Rugmark criteria and the licensing agreement which includes:

• Not to employ children below 14 years of age.
• Pay minimum official wages.
• Submit the details of all the loom manufacturing units.
• Authorize Rugmark officials to inspect looms or the manufacturing unit. 

Inspections are carried out by Rugmark officials to check the compliance of Rugmark criteria.

Post Inspection, if illegal child labor is found working in the looms:

• Exporter is informed to either remove the child and send him/her to school(Either a Rugmark school or any government or  other school).
• Disengage the loom, if the loom owner does not comply with orders.

If no child labor is found:

Exporter is given license and authorized to use Rugmark Labels on their carpets.
